Mision of Studio LR
"I want to support young designers as well as Czech fashion design in general," says Libena Rochova, patron of Studio LR. That is the reason why the project of Studio LR has been created. Dedication to education, talent advancement and new possibilities for young designers in, but not exclusively for, fashion.
"For several years I have been conducting classes of creative apparels at JAMU and FAVU (Czech art colleges) as well as summer workshops at Bolek Polivka Farm. Back then, I received the thought of supporting young designers, offering them space for exhibiting their creativity untamed by any thoughts of business which lead them away from their creativity. I want them to keep this creativity and introduce their unique view on apparels. I would like to exhibit the collections of jewelry designers and introduce young people from this industry. I hoped this space would also be an educational institution, a space of communication and opinion exchanges and views of the world from more points than just the fashion one. It is a long run but I believe Studio LR will become an important point for presentations of their works and an inspiration for their futures,"
says Libena Rochova, founder and patron of Studio LR.
Studio LR offers two showrooms for monthly exhibits of designer works along with chamber shows or other presentations of new collections. There will be lectures and courses, workshops and it should also be a space for informal meetings with talented and compelling individuals.
The space will be dedicated to choice adepts of Libena Rochova. Designers' turnover will be conducted along with their own ideas of their presentations. Libena Rochova intends looking for new faces and talents at Brno Style Fair or in the frame of various designers' competitions and presentations, art schools and workshops.
This is not about winners. I want to support talent. The talent is given and the designer doesn't need to be awarded by trophies to manifest it. It is about what he has to offer. About what is hidden inside of him. I hope Studio LR will be a place where young designers will want to present themselves. A place where they use the conditions I am able to offer them. That is the place of experience, education and publicity," Libena concluded to the mission of her studio.
Author exhibition "Dialogue" - Exhibition of Libena Rochova's dresses with photographs of Jiri Turek and Antonin Kratochvil took place at Museum Kampa in Sovovy Mlyny in Prague last fall.
